On 17 April 2023, the University of Macau (UM) arranged for over 150 students and staff members to visit the National Security Education Exhibition co-organised by the Macao SAR government and the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR. Led by University Council Chair, Dr. Lam Kam Seng, Acting Rector, Prof. Hui King Man, and Vice Rector (Student Affairs), Prof. Mok Kai Meng, the UM members learned more about the development of the national security system from various perspectives through the exhibition.

This year’s exhibition comprises a prologue and five thematic sections: the great successes in the country’s development; the progress – in terms of the right path taken, and advances made – in the modernisation of the national security system and its capabilities; the forging ahead efficiently – in the face of adversity – of the pursuit of national security and social stability; the progress – in terms of united and unwavering effort – in safeguarding national security; the pragmatic approach to joint development to striding forward with confidence into the future; and the passing on to the next generation of patriotism, and the effort to advance the role of patriotic forces in Macao. Through concise text, over 350 photos, and multiple videos, the exhibition shows that under the guidance of the holistic view of national security, China has made a series of new achievements. Moreover, with the strong support of the central government, the principle of ‘patriots governing Macao’ has been thoroughly implemented, facilitating social stability and economic development in Macao.

Through the exhibition, UM students and staff members gained a complete and in-depth understanding of the holistic view of national security, the latest developments of the country and Macao in improving the national security system, and the collective responsibility for safeguarding national security.

澳門大學於2023年4月17日組織超過150名學生和教職員參觀由澳門特別行政區政府與中央人民政府駐澳門特別行政區聯絡辦公室合辦的“全民國家安全教育展”，在校董會主席林金城博士、代校長許敬文教授、副校長（學生事務）莫啓明教授的率領下，多角度認識國家安全體系的建設與發展。

今年的展覽分為序章和五個專題部分，包括“國家發展取得新的偉大成就”、“守正創新，繼往開來，推進國家安全體系和能力現代化”、“不畏艱險，迎難而上，有效維護國家安全和社會穩定”、“齊心合力，穩中求進，堅定不移維護國家安全”、“務實合作，攜手發展，滿懷信心一起邁向未來”和“秉承傳統，奮發有為，愛國愛澳力量不斷壯大”。透過精練的文字、超過350幅圖片和多段影片，重點展示了在總體國家安全觀的指導下，國家取得了一系列新的偉大成就；並且在中央的大力支持下，“愛國者治澳”原則得以貫徹落實，造就了澳門的社會穩定和經濟發展。

通過是次展覽，澳大學生和教職員對總體國家安全觀有了更全面、更深入的了解，認識到國家和澳門在完善國家安全體系建設方面的最新進展，從中深刻領略到維護國家安全是全民的責任。

In order to enhance UM staff members’ understanding of the nation, the Human Resources Section of the Office of Administration organized an in-house training course on “Political Development of the Macao SAR” on 1 December 2022.

Dr. KONG Wa, Senior Instructor of the Faculty of Law (FLL), introduced the main contents and manifestations of the executive-led political system, the “Five Steps” of the political development in the Macao SAR, as well as the amendments to the methods for selecting the Chief Executive and formation of the Legislative Assembly. Around 100 staff members participated.

The University hopes that this training can enhance staff members’ knowledge on the political development of the Macao SAR, promoting patriotism and strengthening their national pride.

為增強大學教職員對國家的認識，行政部人力資源處於2022年12月1日舉辦了“澳門特區的政制發展”內部培訓課程。

澳門大學法學院高級導師江華博士介紹了行政主導政治體制的主要內容與體現、澳門政制發展的“五步曲”、行政長官產生辦法的修改和立法會產生辦法的修改。約100名員工參與此課程。

大學希望透過是次培訓課程加強員工對澳門特區政制發展的認識，弘揚愛國愛澳精神，並增強員工的民族自豪感及家國情懷。

In order to enhance UM staff members’ understanding of the nation, the Human Resources Section of the Office of Administration organized in-house training courses on “The Relationship between the Quality of Life in Mainland China and Macao”, “One Country, Two Systems Theory” and “The Impact of Financial Technology and the Metaverse on Higher Education in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area” on 11 November and 23 November 2022 respectively.

Prof. XU Jianhua, Head of Department of Sociology in the Faculty of Social Sciences (FSS), shared charts and data related to quality of life and carried out the analyses and comparison between Mainland China and Macao in the context of economic development and quality of life in the past, present and future. Over 105 staff members participated.

Prof. LOK Wai Kin, Director of the Centre for Constitutional Law and Basic Law Studies (FLL), shared the accurate definition and core contents of the “One Country, Two Systems”. He highlighted that this policy described our mode of living. He also emphasized that the harmony between “One Country” and “Two Systems” was crucial for the social stability and economic development of the Macao SAR, and for the well-being of Macao residents. Over 70 staff members participated.

Prof. Jerome YEN, Head of Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship of Institute of Collaborative Innovation (ICI) and Distinguish Professor of FST, shared the origin of Metaverse and the technology applied. He also introduced the challenge of application of metaverse in higher education. Over 80 staff members participated.

The University hopes that these training courses can enhance staff members’ national knowledge, understanding more about the social situation in Mainland China, the core contents of “One Country, Two Systems” and introduction of the latest technology update and application in higher education in Mainland China, in order to promote patriotism and strengthen their national pride.

為增強大學教職員對國家的認識，行政部人力資源處於2022年11月11日及11月23日舉辦了「內地與澳門生活素質的關係」、「一國兩制與我」及「粵港澳大灣區金融科技與元宇宙對高等教育的影響」內部培訓課程。

社會科學學院社會學系系主任徐建華教授向同事們分享了關於生活素質的各項數據，從而分析及比較內地與澳門在過去、現在與將來在經濟民生上的發展。超過105名員工參與此課程。

法學院憲法與基本法研究中心主任駱偉建教授分享“一國兩制”的構想並讓員工對“一國兩制”有全面且準確的認知。駱教授指出“一國兩制”是我們的生活方式，強調和諧的中央與特區關係對社會穩定、經濟發展及民生至關重要。超過70名員工參與此課程。
協同創新研究院創新創業中心主任及科技學院特聘教授顏至宏教授向同事們分享了元宇宙的緣起及所使用的科技，並指出元宇宙高等教育的於內地的挑戰。超過80名員工參與此課程。

大學希望透過培訓課程加強員工對國家的認識，加深員工對中國內地社會現況的了解，“一國兩制”的構想，分享最新科技發展及內地元宇宙教育的應用，弘揚愛國愛澳精神，並增強員工的民族自豪感及家國情懷。

In order to enhance UM staff members’ understanding of the nation, the Human Resources Section of the Office of Administration organized an in-house training course on “Culture of Chinese Characters and Foundation of Chinese Classics” on 19 October 2022.

Prof. ZHU Shoutong, Director of Centre for Chinese History and Culture in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities (FAH), introduced the merits, features, profoundness and complexity of Chinese characters, as well as the relationship between Chinese characters, traditional Chinese culture and Chinese classics. A total of 120 staff members participated.

The University hopes that this training can enhance staff members’ national knowledge, arouse their interest in Chinese language and culture, promoting patriotism and strengthening their national pride.

為增強大學教職員對國家的認識，行政部人力資源處於2022年10月19日舉辦了“漢字文化與國學基礎”內部培訓課程。

澳門大學人文學院中國歷史文化中心主任朱壽桐教授分享了漢字文化的優勢、特性、博大精深與難度係數，以及漢字文化與傳統中華文化、國學經典之間的關係。共120名員工參與此課程。

大學希望透過是次培訓課程加強員工對國家的認識，提高員工對漢語文化及中華文化的興趣，弘揚愛國愛澳精神，並增強員工的民族自豪感及家國情懷。
